At the Chronicle, we wanted to show a side-by-side comparison of the presidential candidates’ views on important nonprofit issues. My solution was this table, built with jQuery, with a header that floats as you scroll down the page.
This is the second version of this table. The first version had the navigation along the left side of the table and takes up considerably more horizontal space.
How America Gives was the first project produced by the Chronicle‘s new design studio, a partnership between technology and editorial in the company. The ambitious project mapped giving data for every state, county, metropolitan area, town and ZIP code in the United States.
I helped manage parts of the project, and worked on styling the map, setting breakpoints for each color set.

For the Chronicle‘s 2012 survey of corporate giving, we wanted to show how every company included in the study compared. I converted a Chronicle of Higher Education graphic for this project, creating a profile for each organization.
